Morgan Stanley 'Grants' Increased Produce Capacity
Richard A. Deem, Montgomery Area Food Bank (MAFB) Chief Executive Officer, thanked the leadership and team members of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC this morning, for their committed, long-term support of the MAFB mission shortly after accepting a $17,826.79 check – the proceeds of Hyundai’s annual team food and fund raiser.
“We at the Montgomery Area Food Bank feel so very fortunate that Hyundai has treated us like family, and we can’t say ‘thank you’ enough, said Deem. “Hyundai team members are intensely aware of the challenge their ‘food insecure’ friends and neighbors face, and they never hesitate to take action. Thank you for being one of our strongest supporters of our mission to eradicate hunger in Alabama.”
We truly do live in the 'Heart of Alabama'.

Hyundai Alabama Team Long-Term Supporters of Mission
The Montgomery Area Food Bank (MAFB) was awarded a $41,500 grant by the Morgan Stanley Foundation recently to increase the food bank’s ability to access, transport store and provide more nutritious fruits and vegetables to families in need.

MAFB is one of six food banks nationwide to receive funding from Morgan Stanley as part of a $250,000 gift to Feeding America® member food banks. “Our focus is on hunger,” said Richard A. Deem, Chief Executive Officer, “But, our partnership to increase fresh produce capacity is very exciting. We’re not only fighting hunger, but we’re also able to provide the building blocks of a healthier community.”

“We are honored to join the Montgomery Area Food Bank in its important fight against hunger,” said Montgomery Morgan Stanley Branch Manager Francisco D'Oliveira. “Through this grant we can help provide even more people with the fresh produce they need to thrive. But our commitment extends beyond financial support. Our employees regularly volunteer at the food bank, individually supporting our culture of giving back.”
