The Mobile Pantry Program is a direct distribution program. The concept is simple. Agencies of the Food Bank choose a site and a date for the event. They advertise it to their clients, and on the appointed day, the Food Bank truck arrives with a large assortment (at least 10,000-12,000 pounds - 10 pallets) of nutritious foods, including fresh produce. The clients receive foods they need at no cost to them. The Senior Supplement Program is an enrollment program for persons aged 60 and above, who are not able to obtain sufficient food for a healthy diet with their own resources. The clients receive the boxes of non-perishable food, weighing 25-35 pounds, during the third week of the month. Additional foods, including a ham or turkey, are provided in November and December.

Funding from individuals and groups in the community supports the Senior Supplement Program. The cost to sponsor one person for a year is $100. Food is provided to the recipients at no charge.

Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture & Industries Ron Sparks along with dozens of volunteers help to distribute over seven tons of food to needy families in the Montgomery area at Beulah Baptist Church.
